WSET 2 Programme

The WSET course is run over 5 nights/6 days. The base fee of €950 per person includes:

  • 5* self-catering accommodation at the recently renovated Chateau de Jalesnes, combining 16th Century heritage with 21st Century comfort.
  • 16 hours of tutoring from our Master of Wine – Martin Hudson
  • WSET fees for the course and exam entry with certificate of qualification.

In order for you to have ‘Your Stay Your Way’ the chateau proposes an a la carte menu of optional add-ons for you to choose from.

Day One – Monday 3rd April 2017

Meet & Greet at Tours airport, or St Pierre des Corps train station.
Luxury coach transfer to Château de Jalesnes, Vernantes.

  • 11:15am Private guided tour of Château de Targé (Optional Extra)

  • 5:30pm Fifth session with Martin (Part 1)
  • 6:30pm Pre-dinner drinks on the terrace (link to spirit education part of programme)
  • 7:00pm Fifth session with Martin (Part 2)
  • 8:00pm End of fifth session with Martin
  • 8:15pm Dinner in Chateau (Optional Extra)

Day Four – Thursday 6th April 2017

  • 5:30pm Visit Comber distillery (Optional Extra)
  • 7:00pm Visit exhibition in Ackerman cave  & dinner in Ackerman home, former resident of Château de Jalesnes (Optional Extra)
  • 9:00pm Return to chateau

Day 6 – Saturday 8th April 2017

  • 9:00am Check out
  • 9:30am Exam in banquet Hall
  • 11:30am End of exam
  • 12:00pm Light lunch – potential for packed lunch to take away (Optional Extra)
  • 12:30pm Presentation of attendance certificate
  • 12:45pm Depart for airport or train station

Breakfast – €17.50 per person per day or €75 for the whole week.

Continental breakfast presented in the dining room.

Purchase of individual optional extras – €617.50

Day One

Dinner in chateau – €40

Relaxed Bistrot style meal served in chateau dining room. Includes pre-dinner drinks.

Day Two

Lunch at chateau – €25

On days without excursions a buffet lunch in the dining room will be offered at the chateau.

Dinner at Local restaurant. €45

Table des Fouées. Providing local speciality bread pockets filled with local recipes.

Day Three

Private wine tour of Chateau de Targé – €70 with lunch, €30 without lunch.

A personal favourite of our Master of Wine Martin Hudson.

Dinner in chateau – €40

Relaxed Bistrot style meal served in chateau dining room. Includes pre-dinner drinks.

Day Four

Private wine tour Chateau de Parnay and Combier Distillery – €95 with lunch, €65 without lunch.

Chateau de Parnay – Reknowned for its unique walled vineyard with an exceptional Saumur Champigny

Combier – Original recipe for triple sec copied by many such as ‘Cointreau’

Private tour of Ackerman caves and dinner in the former residence – €70.

Ackerman introduced sparkling wine to the area. And the family lived in Chateau de Jalesnes in the 1800s

Day Five

Lunch at chateau – €25

On days without excursions a buffet lunch in the dining room will be offered at the chateau.

Sumptuous Banquet with accompanying wine flight fastidiously chosen by Martin to celebrate end of course – €100.

The Chateau de Jalesnes at its finest, in the chateau chapel.  Chance for all attendees to celebrate their achievements.

Day Six

Packed lunch – €20

For homeward journey. Provided before departure
