Chateau de Jalesnes Escape to the Chateau – Do It Yourself
In 2017 a TV crew from Channel 4 spent six weeks filming the trials and tribulations of Chateau de Jalesnes. Hosted by Dick and Angel Strawbridge and staring our investors Jonathan Cooke, Michael Halpin as well as our current managing investor Jenny Savage.
Through out the episodes you will see some of the work that has been carried out here at the Chateau.
Episode 1 : Jonathan and Michael, who are struggling to turn their magnificent French castle into a money-making venture, explore some of their chateau’s caves in the hope of finding a buried fortune.
Episode 2: In this episode, Angel advises Brits Jonathan and Michael on how to make their chateau wedding business work. Then it’s crunch time for the pair as they try to persuade an American couple to book a big money wedding with them.
Episode 3: Jonathan and Michael test the services they provide at their chateau by inviting Michael’s old college mates for the weekend, but will they be able to lay off the partying?
Episode 4: Dick helps search for a stash of wine, said to be hidden by the Germans during World War II, in one of Jonathan and Michael’s caves.
Episode 5: It’s crunch time for Jonathan and Michael who are facing their investors. Their newest idea – to keep goats – does not go down well.
Episode 6: Desperate to increase income at his chateau, Michael invites Angel to help out with an experiment to do afternoon tea for the locals. Can they get it ready in time?
Episode 7: As Jonathan and Michael prepare their chateau for the big wedding, they have a sewage problem that threatens to take the whole first floor out of action; with 40 guests due, the timing couldn’t be worse.
Episode 8: For Jonathan and Michael, with the big wedding day upon them and 45 guests to deal with, can they deliver the perfect occasion?
